Swirling Square

by William Breslow

Swirling Square is a more playful approach using painted steel components welded onto a flexible steel bar that's been bent and curled in multiple directions.

The steel bar behaves like a stiff spring.

The "square" is really a welded, three-dimensional construct, suspended from the spring bar.

On a windy day the square component moves and swings, providing the energy to have the entire piece move up and down gently with the wind.

Swirling Square is at home on a beautiful property in Woodstock, NY overlooking the Ashokan Reservoir and, owned by a close family friend who happens to be a well known NYC architect.
