River Run
by William Breslow
Originally conceived as a site specific installation on a river view property, we liked this piece enough to keep it on our own property until 2016 when it was entered in the juried - Sculpture On The Mount at the Edith Wharton estate in Lenox, MA.
The piece features four square vertical poles that are mounted on a steel base in two pairs, one behind the other.
Large steel and stainless steel sheets were free-form cut with "wave" shapes in mind.
The steel components are painted black and the stainless components are polished to a high reflective finish.
Working from the bottom up the various shapes are mounted on alternating sets of poles to create a three-dimensional effect.
In bright sunlight, the stainless steel elements of this piece pick up and reflect the color of the light in the surrounding area.
River Run was one of two pieces sold from the 2016 exhibit and is now installed at the edge of a small private lake opposite the retirement home of an NYU Business School professor.
